Tanning is a natural defence mechanism, characterised by melanin synthesis that gives a healthy and good-looking appearance. A nice summer tan is associated with a glowing complexion.
However, an extended exposure to UV rays induces a cascade of cytokines and neuroactive mediator production at skin level, resulting in inflammatory responses and generating premature aging.
Being aware of this issue, Greentech introduces Epsiline allowing to activate tanning and thus induce melanin production – the first defense first line of skin protection against environmental damages.
The new marine melanin booster and tan maximiser Epsiline preserves the tan and pampers the skin with soothing hydration. It prolongs the holiday tan by up to 1week (further results expected prior to SEPAWA.
Greentech and its subsidiary Greensea identified the microalga Porphyridium cruentum, a red alga living in Thau lagoon, able to live in a hostile environment and known for its anti-inflammatory, UV-protective and anti-aging properties.
Epsiline prepares the skin for the sun, activates tanning and extends its effects. It focuses on melanogenesis main pathways with and without UV exposure, increasing the melanin synthesis and transport to the skin surface. It provides a good-looking effect and improves moisturisation. Thus it ensures a sunkissed complexion throughout the summer and makes it last.
The active ingredient was specially developed for formulations intended to either prepare the skin for an upcoming sun exposure or to instantly hydrate and prolong a beautiful holiday tan.
