Under the motto ‘Where Beauty Starts’, CosmeticBusiness invites decision-makers from the cosmetics industry to the largest industry get-together in Munich, Germany from 5th to 6th June 2024.
More than 400 suppliers from over 20 countries will be presenting the entire spectrum for the development of new cosmetic products in three exhibition halls. The variety ranges from ingredients to formulation and packaging solutions. Established players and numerous new suppliers will be showcasing their new products. Around a third of the companies registered so far come from other European countries. From the next edition, CosmeticBusiness will present itself with the new claim ‘Where Beauty Starts’, a new logo and a new look. ‘In these fast-moving times, it is important to keep an eye on the market and to constantly develop in line with the needs and expectations of visitors and exhibitors,’ says Markus Geisenberger. ‘With the brand relaunch, we have given CosmeticBusiness a fresh and contemporary look. After all, an authentic brand identity creates credibility and emphasises the relevance of our trade fair in the industry.’ More than 40 new exhibitors will enrich the offering and present their solutions at CosmeticBusiness 2024. In the ingredients segment, suppliers such as A-Sense from Poland, the Swiss fragrance designer Essencia and the distributor Gustav Grolmann will showcase their range of services. When it comes to analyses for the entire product range of the cosmetics and personal care industry, Eurofins, with its global network of quality assurance laboratories, is the place to go at the trade fair. Elanders Kaisheim and PAWI Packaging Poland specialise in packaging and printing solutions. Also new this year is symex from Bremerhaven, a supplier of systems for the production of emulsions and suspensions for the cosmetics industry.

The innovation corner
Whether innovative anti-ageing ingredients, refill solutions or weight-reduced packaging: The Innovation Corner in hall four is the hotspot for all trend-savvy trade fair visitors. Here start-ups are providing new impetus for the development of future cosmetic products. The two start-ups Gaia Tech from Switzerland and Lignovations from Austria prove that upcycling is currently all the rage. Gaia Tech shows how valuable new ingredients for the cosmetics industry can be obtained by upcycling by-products from agriculture. They will be presenting their product, an anti-ageing extract made from olive pomace, at CosmeticBusiness. The start-up Lignovations from Austria is presenting its product LignoGuard, a bio-based multifunctional ingredient made from upcycled lignin. This is a biopolymer that offers natural UV and antioxidant protection and improves emulsion stability. LignoGuard can be used in a wide range of products such as skin care, sun protectiwon, colour cosmetics and anti-ageing to replace synthetic ingredients. The start-up Sea Me is also taking part with its reusable system zeroo for cosmetics and drugstore products. Derived from zero waste, the start-up offers a sustainable and resource-saving reusable system for the cosmetics industry and retailers.
The spotlight
The special show puts the spotlight on exhibitors’ new products. Over 30 new products – from ingredients and manufacturing processes to material and packaging solutions – will be showcased in the Spotlight innovation show. The ‘Innovation Route’ filter option in the online exhibitor directory guides visitors to the respective exhibitor on site. From innovative active ingredients to sustainable packaging, the Spotlight innovation show offers a valuable overview of the wide range of products and services from the cosmetics supply industry.
The Speaker Programme
The offer is rounded off by an extensive specialist programme. As a highlight on the first day of the fair, Alicia Lindner, Managing Director and co-owner of Annemarie Börlind, will provide insights into product development at Börlind in her presentation. In particular, she will address the question ‘How is a credible natural cosmetics product of tomorrow created?’. Trend expert and forecaster Niels Holger Wien will also be there again. In his lecture ‘DO WE CARE? – Everything matters. How to feel part of it all’, he will address important topics in current times. On the second day of the trade fair, Birgit Huber will present the results of the latest IKW study in her lecture ‘Cosmetics and sustainability – What makes Germans tick?’. Whether in business, society or the environment – people are increasingly concerned about sustainability. The IKW study analyses the importance of cosmetic products in consumers’ everyday lives and sheds light on the extent to which people are succeeding in changing their previous lifestyle habits. And above all: to what extent is the cosmetics industry also affected by this?

Like last year, trend expert Niels Holger Wien will be there again.
