While a reproducible quality and batch-to-batch consistency is indispensable for the manufacture of high quality cosmetic products, the phytochemical composition of botanical extracts often depends on a variety of factors such as seasonal variations, harvesting methods, storage conditions and the extraction process.
In order to have a marker for the quality and phytochemical composition of a certain extract, the concept of lead compounds (LC) has been introduced. Lead compounds are defined molecules being most typical for a given extract and/or representing its active constituent.
LC Herbasol® comprises a new class of liquid botanical extracts for cosmetic applications with a consistent concentration of defined lead compounds. The chemical standardization of LC Herbasol® products is optimized individually for each lead compound, accomplished by HPLC, HPTLC chromatography, or mass spectroscopy.
Together with a proprietary mild and controlled manufacturing process under cosmetic GMP designed to protect the phytochemical composition, we can provide botanical extracts with a consistent high quality and now also with a standardized concentration – for high class cosmetics.
