In aging tissue and when cells encounter stresses such as UV and pollution, fibroblasts in the dermis become senescent, which means they do not divide anymore but continue to secrete inflammatory and age-promoting factors. Alpine Rose Active acts as a so-called senolytic. That means it specifically targets the senescent cells and not the healthy cells in the skin. It helps to eliminate them to clear the tissue of senescent cells. This decreases the production of inflammatory molecules and rejuvenates the skin from the inside-out. The senolytic activity of Alpine Rose Active was demonstrated in vitro on senescent fibroblasts. Placebo-controlled clinical studies showed that Alpine Rose Active prevents protein damage upon UVA stress and can thus protect skin cells from becoming senescent. Additionally, it provides a rejuvenation effect through its senolytic activity when senescent cells are already present. Alpine Rose active reduces redness caused by chronic inflammation in aged skin and improves the extracellular matrix composition leading to a firm, elastic and youthful skin.
