CPL Aromas: New Fragrance Factory in Dubai officially opened by Chief Operations Officer of Jafza, Talal Al Hashimi

Located in the Jebel Ali Free Zone, this 10,000 sq. metre fully automated site is the first fragrance manufacturing site to be established by an International Fragrance house in the UAE and as such will ensure local companies enjoy improved levels of customer service without the need to import fragrances from outside the MENA region as is currently the case.
The opening ceremony, also attended by numerous CPL Aromas clients from the region, saw the presentation of a specially created fragrance for Her Excellency Salma Hareb, CEO of Jafza by CPL Aromas Director Francis Pickthall.
CPL Aromas create and manufacture fragrance concentrates for a variety of applications including fine fragrances, personal care products and household products. The company is responsible for creating many of the leading fragrances in the Middle East and provide the branded companies with the concentrated perfume oil that is incorporated into the clients finished products. According to Euromonitor the market for finished fragrances in the MENA region was worth $4.9 Billion in 2014 with the market expected to grow significally in future years.
The company has operated a successful business from the Jebel Ali Free Zone since 2005 where it has maintained a highly skilled team together with modern facilities including a Creative Centre, Sales and Marketing support plus warehousing. This new investment will radically change the service offered to users of fragrance concentrates who currently rely on imports from Europe, USA, India and the Far East. The new plant will operate to the highest international standards producing fragrances to the same quality as CPL’s other global sites; moreover, CPL has worked with its key raw material partners to ensure that the raw materials used are readily available to ensure competitive lead times.
Talal Al Hashimi, COO of Jafza and Economic Zones World, commenting on the CPL Aromas’ fully automated factory in Jafza said: “We are very happy to host CPL Aromas’ state-of-the-art production facility in Jafza, which is the globally recognized hub for the wider Middle East region that spans from West Asia, the CIS, Africa to the Indian Subcontinent, a market of more than 2.5 billion resource rich consumers.” “We are sure from its new facility CPL Aromas will be able to serve its rapidly growing client base in the multi-billion finished fragrance markets in the Indian Subcontinent and MENA region more efficiently. We assure CPL our full support in making their new venture in Jafza a success.”
Commenting on the opening of the site, Mr Chris Pickthall, Group CEO said “The opening of this factory represents a very significant investment for CPL Aromas and recognises the huge importance of the MENA region for our company. We are extremely proud of our new site and are confident that customers will see the benefit  of having the regions first fragrance manufacturing site on their door step” Mr Pickthall added “We are grateful for the support shown by the UAE authorities and in particular Jafza (Jebel Ali Free Zone) in facilitating this important venture for our company. We have operated in the UAE for over ten years and have always found the country to be an easy and accommodating place in which to do business”
The new site became operational in February 2015 and employs a team of 65 staff some of whom have relocated from other CPL sites and all of whom have received rigorous training. The factory employs the latest automatic fragrance dosing equipment from Germany and the entire site is fully air conditioned to ensure the quality of the thousands of raw materials are not affected by the high temperatures experienced in Dubai. The building itself is highly insulated ensuring that the environmental impact of the cooling system is minimised by allowing the cool air to remain within the site. Customers in the MENA region and Indian sub-continent who were previously receiving their goods from CPL sites in the UK and Hong Kong will now start to receive their goods from the new factory in Dubai with the resulting benefits in customer service. The global market for fragrance concentrates is thought to be worth in excess of $8 Billion per annum and the MENA region accounts for a substantial and growing proportion of this figure. This facility will see the UAE become a significant exporter of fragrance concentrates to other MENA countries and the Indian sub-continent.
