Ashland’s botanical extract Procataline G2 biofunctional helps to shield hair and scalp from urban stress. This new version of Procataline, with antioxidant defences against air pollution extracted from pea and chia seeds, is rich in peptides, amino acids, polysaccharides, polyphenols and minerals. It helps chelate heavy metals and reduces tryptophan damage when hair is exposed to certain air pollutants. It shelters hair roots from air pollutants, visibly helps increase the antioxidant defences in scalp cells, and visibly reduces the pollution marker AhR/CYP1A1 and the IL1-R1 response triggered by exposure to certain air pollutants. It also helps limit the visible decrease in VEGFA microcirculation marker induced by exposure to certain air pollutants.

BASF’s three leaf extracts, inspired by plant defence strategies, offer complete protection against multiple sources of light, especially blue light. Ciste’M, an extract of the rockrose adapted to arid climates, protects DNA from the effects of UVB exposure and prevents the deleterious effects of blue light. DN-Age, a candle bush leaf extract, offers a comprehensive cellular DNA protection against UVA, UVB and blue light and helps to promote the skin’s natural DNA repair process. Arganyl protects DNA against blue light in two ways and has anti-pollution efficacy. The biomimetic active Phytosoothe protects the physical and microbiotic skin barrier as well as restoring it after impairment. The 100-percent natural-based Neurobiox stimulates cell renewal and increases the thickness of the epidermis and has a positive effect on skin luminosity. The extract Bix’Activ reduces sebum production by restraining the proliferation of sebocytes in sebaceous glands. In addition, it blocks the signal that induces hyper-keratinisation and helps refine pores as a result. Because it also keeps microbiome virulence at bay, the agent helps reduce skin blemishes. By acting on an epigenetic level and targeting the expression of tyrosinase, DN-Aura decreases melanin synthesis in melanocytes, reducing the incidence of dark spots.
