Impag and Alfa Chemicals: User-friendly sugar esters

Sucragel from Alfa Chemicals, distributed by Impag, is a liquid emulsifier system of natural origin and is also a good thickener for all nonpolar lipids. The product range is based on sugar derivatives and makes the interesting properties of sugar esters available in a user-friendly form. Using Sucragel it is easy to produce highly viscous oily gels. It can convert almost any non-polar emollient into an oily gel. In addition the preservative-free emulsifier system, which is up to 100 percent natural and suitable for leave-on or rinse-off products, can be introduced into the formulation at room temperature or at up to 70°C. It is compatible with plant oils, esters, mineral oils, Vaseline, silicones, and mineral sun filters. Almost all of the oily gels produced using this ingredient emulsify immediately on contact with water and form a very stable micro-emulsion.
