Succinic acid is suitable for the treatment of skin damage caused by excessive sun exposure, but also for the prevention of premature skin aging. Irena Jokšienė explains about this and how the combination with hyaluronic acid can increase its effectiveness.

Regularly, women and men as well taking care of their facial skin look for new ways to prevent the first signs of ageing. A modern skin care alternative is organic succinic acid (also known as succinic acid), which prevents skin ageing. Excess sunlight causes collagen and elastin fibres to disappear, resulting in serious alterations in the skin and dermis layer, appearing as the loss of skin elasticity and firmness. This process is effectively stopped by succinic acid, which not only prevents premature ageing but significantly softens already present wrinkles. Effectivity of succinic acid Succinic acid helps achieve noticeable results in a very short time. Acid triggers energy production in skin cells, promotes regeneration processes, and stimulates skin’s protective functions. Sagging skin becomes firmer, smoother and radiant. This acid not only protects the skin from excessive oxidative reactions of free radicals but cleanses it without damaging the protective layer, too. Accordingly, the effect of cosmetics containing succinic acid is easily noticeable and the results stay for a long time. Succinic acid, which belongs to the group of organic dicarboxylic acids, also has antioxidant properties. It relieves chronic skin diseases, regulates the skin’s moisture balance and the activity of sebaceous glands. The acid targets the upper layer of the skin’s epidermis and removes dead cells while stimulating the production of new ones by opening pores. This increases the skin’s permeability to other active ingredients in cosmetics. Succinic acid mono peel not only smoothes out wrinkles and stops premature ageing, but also stimulates the vascular wall elasticity and melanin metabolism. After the procedure, the skin regains its moisture balance.

Combination of hyaluronic and succinic acid

Current research confirmed the effectiveness of the combination of succinic and hyaluronic acids in cosmetics. Although hyaluronic acid is often recognised as the most effective moisturiser, researchers have found a way to strengthen the skin’s structure further, thus ensuring its firmness and moisture. With the help of succinic acid, free radicals are neutralised, so the skin is protected from the harmful effects of the environment. The combination of the two acids stimulates the microcirculatory processes and the synthesis of elastin and collagen, whichstops the early signs of aging. Experience shows that the increasing use of succinic and hyaluronic acids in the production of cosmetics and skin treatment allows for big changes in a short time. It is able to sooth premature wrinkles and makes the facial skin firmer and more elastic. The combination provides anti aging effects at cellular and intracellular facial tissue levels. It increases the number of fibroblasts responsible for collagen synthesis, stimulates cell growth factor, and activates the elasticity of capillaries.

More effectiveness

The company has replaced the commonly used hyaluronic acid with the sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid sodium salt). Due to a considerably lower molecular weight, it penetrates the skin more easily and retains up to 1,000 times more water. This stimulates the microcirculation process and ensures the skin’s natural moisture balance, which succinic acid helps to preserve for a longer time. It also removes dead skin cells, stimulates the production of new ones, and most importantly, increases the skin’s permeability to hyaluronic acid.
