Euperlan OP White from BASF Care Creations introduced a wax-based, readily-biodegradable, cold-processable opacifier dispersion with a superior white appearance for surfactant formulations. Cegesoft Peel consists of spherically-shaped wax beads that provide a gentle and mild exfoliation. Mainly derived from natural and renewable resources, the readily biodegradable and environmentally-friendly ingredient is an alternative to sharp-edged abrasives and non-degradable beads, often referred to as microplastic beads. The company’s baby care concept First Touch offers new formulations such as baby sensitive skin foam Head-to-Toe, the sprayable lotion Light-to-Caress, and the baby shampoo Tear free. BASF also received the SEPAWA Innovation Award 2018 for Tinosorb S Lite Aqua, a UV filter solution enabling the creation of extra light sun care formulations.

Berg + Schmidt‘s BergaCare SmartCrystals Rutin, a submicron size of the SmartCrystals, leads to a drastic change in physical properties. They exhibit an increased saturation solubility and a higher dissolution rate, creating a high flow of molecules penetrating the skin. Furthermore, they adhere well to the skin and ensure prolonged release of the active. This makes rutin, one of the most powerful antioxidants found in nature, many times more bioavailable and bioactive than conventional rutin powder.

CFF’s Sensocel stab is a natural and microplastics-free stabilising system to replace carbomers and acrylates. This eco-friendly system stabilises cosmetic products by creating a colloidal 3D network. It is optimal for sprayable systems because of its thixotropic character. It is quickly absorbed, has a delicate texture and provides a good skin feel. It also helps to reduce emulsifier concentration.
