Kappus annually produces about 70.000 tons of soap

The soap manufacturer Kappus Group has decided to declare ordinary insolvency. Dr Franz- Ludwig Danko has been appointed as interim insolvency administrator. Production will continue at all the company’s locations and the employees will continue to receive their salaries. Products such as liquid and bar soaps are delivered to retail clients. Price increases in raw materials and the price competition in the industry, caused the company to run into financial problems.

The company which was founded in 1848 in Offenbach employs about 350 people and has production sites in Offenbach (M. Kappus) with 72 employees, in Krefeld (Dreiring) with 130 employees, in Riesa (Kappus Riesa) with 73 employees and Heitersheim (Hirtler) with 77 employees.
