Download-Tip March: Penetration and occlusion properties of paraffin oil and vegetable oils
Dr. Matthias Hauser presents two studies in which the skin penetration and occlusive properties of vegetable oils and paraffin oil were compared with the help of in vivo methods. All oils penetrate only into the upper layers of the stratum corneum, enhance moisture retention, allow the skin to breathe and do not clog the pores. As paraffin oil is inert it is recommended for the use on allergic and atopic skin. COSSMA subscribers can download scientific background information.
