Pavilion 19 will host the best of technological innovation in the supply chain. The S.M.A.R.T.* area of Cosmopack will showcase automation solutions presented by international brands. The launch event of this special area will be the conference entitled Smart manufacturing and new technologies. It will explore the latest technologies that redefine the beauty and cosmetics industry.

Hall 19 will also host the 7th edition of The Cosmopack Factory project, which for 2019, will present the production process of NO.CO – NO COMPROMISE, a scalp oil made with the most environmentally-friendly industrial solutions and techniques. Thanks to its innovative formula and the use of ingredients of natural origin, the product is water-safe and requires only a third of the amount of water usually used during the rinsing phase to be removed. Furthermore, the primary packaging of NO.CO will be made with 100% recycled PET. The design of the bottle has been developed by the international agency Centdegrés; the technologies used for the realisation of the project are provided by Cosmoproject for the formula, Omas Tecnosistemi for the machinery, Verve for packaging, and Aliplast for the regenerated PET polymer for the production of the bottle.

Coverpla, hall 20, stand B58, will highlight its CSR involvement by partnering with Luigi Bormioli on the development of the Ecoline range to reduce packaging weight and to develop rechargeable, recyclable solutions. The new eco-designed collection is a dual solution in terms of compatibility and capping. A specific CV1 neck makes the jars in the Eco-
line range compatible with standard screw pumps. This allows brands to perform their own filling operations and offer products that are rechargeable and 100% recyclable. The specific trim for the standard pump can be matched with any of the caps offered by the company. Coverpla has also added its own design with the flask-shaped Verdi model. Made up of two bottles and two jars dubbed Ecojars, the new range allows a 40% reduction in weight compared with the 100g of glass used for a classic 100ml bottle. This leads to an average 60% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions across the supply chain in comparison with plastic or blown or pressed glass.

Product design, colours and packaging are inspired by nature, its structures and its power. Formulations include natural ingredients, moisturising and caring additives. Haptic effects are combined with laser decoration and achieve a 360° decorated packaging. RPC Bramlage Division, hall 15, stand B16–C21, has developed a new lip care stick that combines greater usability and functionality with a stronger environmental profile compared to other models currently available. As the three-piece design is manufactured completely in polypropylene, its recyclability is greatly increased. PP also has a lower carbon footprint than POM which is often used for these types of products. Overall the new stick has achieved a RecyClass B rating for its environmental profile, whereas most traditional sticks have an E or F rating. The design of the stick mechanism provides precise operation with 2½ turns required for the pomade to reach its end position. This reduces the risk of the pomade breaking. The internal piston can be adapted to meet different product characteristics. A wide range of decoration options is also available.
