It’s not just the precious contents of cosmetic packaging that are evolving. The  packaging itself is also subject to constant new demands in terms of functionality and design. The time-consuming process of continuous improvement is complex and requires a lot of passion.

The development of a packaging is a journey and the starting point is to think about something unique, combining know-how, innovation and technology. Innovation means having the courage and the ability to see change as an opportunity, to grasp any new request of the market, seeking new ways of thinking and acting. It means to escape from the ordinary and to get rid of established schemes to propose original packaging solutions, attractive in terms of aesthetics and design yet functional in any, application, in the perspective of continuous combination of experience, tradition and progress. The continuous progress in the constant creation and development of new packaging is possible through the combination of all the economic, and technological aspects, but above all through the human component.

Drive for something new

Innovation is the driver, the change, the strategic lever that guides the evolution and continuous improvement of the company’s processes and the product itself. Companies involved in the development of new packaging in the beauty industry have to pursue innovation, understanding and anticipating needs and requirements in order to create a solid relationship and mutual listening with their customers, as well as offering creative and effective solutions. Baralan sees itself to be an “Innovation Ambassador”, through the development of innovative packaging in the shapes and materials used, cared in every detail, as a guarantee of quali

Passion to create

To develop is a strategic asset, which starts from brainstorming and research, to the creation of samples with tests and evaluations, up to the production of the product. Starting from a simple sketch, Baralan specialists experiment with the most complex graphic processing and works in partnership with the key players of its value chain to realize its own products. The constant comparison with specialized teams sets the base to create reliable, versatile and quality packaging. Therefore, professionally created packaging is the result of a relevant creative process, of research, of experimentation and originality, and the result of an active listening to market requests, combining elements of functionality, aesthetics and usability. The act of developing a packaging depends on the passion of those who create it. From passion to excellence, the brightest ideas come alive. The activity of developing is expressed through the active comprehension of customers, translated in the design of a packaging carefully studied in design, shapes, sizes, and through the innovation of materials and accessories for different intended uses. Linear and rounded shapes that express elegance and sophistication, are alternated with rectangular and squared shapes that give modernity and appeal to the product.

Design processes

A visual appeal which comes also from the creative details of the finishes obtained through various decoration techniques and from the choice of colours that allow to switch from the effect of frosting to solid colours, or from transparency to soft shades. Design is an important phase in the development process, to find the most suitable packaging for any cosmetic formula, as a result of a skilful and qualified work. For Baralan, developments of new packaging come to life through a set of elements aimed at offering to each customer the best solution for each cosmetic product: innovation therefore goes through design, personalisation with various decoration techniques and proposing products in different capacities to meet the needs of the market. It is fundamental to give voice to imagination that ranges from the creative details of finishes to various personalisation techniques and to generate accurate and high-quality product designs to evaluate the effectiveness of a packaging and enhance all its characteristics.

Bottles and more

Innovation brings new ideas, which enrich the range with new products and the extension of existing lines. Baralan just launched a series of new products on the market, which embody the company’s innovative drive. This is how the glass bottle lines “Mirella” and “Alexia” for nail polish were born, respectively with rounded and cubic shape for a unique geometric effect, but also the new product variants such as the iconic glass jar “Minerva Jar” for skincare which returns with a bold new look, in its amber version. However, the continuous work of research and development is not only limited to the study of new glass bottles and jars, but also to a wide range of accessories as removable overcaps, overpumps or droppers.

Market forecast

In a dynamic market pervaded by constant changes, innovation will be the leitmotiv of 2021, a year that promises to be very dynamic for the whole beauty industry with the aim of always embracing beauty through cosmetic packaging. Primary packaging solutions, seemingly simple but extremely refined, with refined elegance and a perfect balance between aesthetics and functionality, which

leave room for the adaptation of details in surfaces and decorations, with the aim  of doing extraordinarily well what seems ordinary, will play a major role in the packaging market in 2021. A challenge, but also an opportunity for us and for everyone who is looking for the best solutions for their customers.
