MWV inaugurates New Melodie Pump Production Line

MeadWestvaco Corp. announced the startup of its’ expanded production capacity for the Melodie fragrance pump in the company’s Barcelona, Spain facility.

With a multi-million Euro capital investment committed in 2011, MWV is doubling the plant’s capacity for the low profile Melodie pump. The company officially inaugurated the production line startup on Tuesday, January 31, during a ceremony and celebration attended by many of its major European clients.

In addition to the modernization of the injection molding and assembly of existing machinery, MWV has also installed best-in-class high cavitation molds and high speed assembly lines. These state-of-the-art improvements provide increased capacity and flexibility, while also helping reduce the facility’s CO2 emissions.

“The decision to expand capacity for the Melodie pump is in line with MWV’s commitment to grow in the Beauty and Personal Care industry and to further innovate in the fragrance segment,” said Guillaume de Demandolx, vice-president of Beauty & Personal Care and Home & Garden Europe. With a discreet design that makes it blend into the bottle neck, the Melodie pump features a soft, consistent fine spray, and offers a wide range of customization options to create aesthetics that are appreciated by consumers around the world.
