Aloe vera

Evidence of active content

Everybody is talking about aloe vera as a trendy ingredient. But in many cosmetics formulations the concentration of its active components is so small that no effect can really be expected.
Aloe vera, thanks to its skin care properties, can send out a very positive message for the promotion of cosmetics products. It is mainly the Aloe vera barbadensis miller species which is used in cosmetics. The gel contained within the leaves, which is 99.5 percent water and frequently marketed as a freeze-dried or spray-dried powder, is of particular importance.

A powerful anti-irritant from Mother Nature

Cosmeceutical skin care products

Are they really efficient?

Most of the cosmeceutical actives target anti-ageing, and since most anti-ageing actives are intended to combat free radical damage, Katinka Jung, Marietta Seifert and Thomas. Herrling from the Gematria Test Lab have analyzed and compared the anti-oxidative power (AP) of natural extracts such as green tea, pomegranate, artichoke, and rosemary.
