Jean-Louis Mathiez, Owner and founder of Cinqpats, gives his opinion of how the crisis influenced the innovation process in the personal care and cosmetics industry. He points out that there is no
no lack of ideas, but is difficult to evaluate an innovative idea and find out how a product can be developed. Recently, Cinqpats developed "Rouge Passion" for Oeka Beauty, an airless lipgloss dispenser.  Mr. Mathiez explains how it works and that he found out that there a very few patents on lipsticks whereas there is a lot of activities on mascaras and all types of applicators. Cinqpats recently developed a new nail polish packaging for essence's nail polish "color & go" range. In addition, Mr. Mathiez talks about the chinese market which is now filing more patents than any market in the world and also, Cinqpats is starting to consult Chinese Beauty brand owners in developing innovative products.
